President – Iona Bonamis
Iona is a public transit planner with Stantec, and recently received her M.Sc. in Planning at the UBC School of Community and Regional Planning. She works on a variety of transit-related projects for all levels of government and other sectors across Canada . These projects range from establishing regional transit governance structures to designing and planning transit systems that are well-integrated with the surrounding land use and other modes of transportation. Iona has been an active CEP member since March 2005, when she first started as a coordinator for CEP. When she’s not working or volunteering, she loves to hike, sing, dance, travel, as well as spend time with her family and friends. |

Board Member – Lesley Duncan
Lesley is thrilled to be a member of the CEP Board. She recently completed her PhD in Social Psychology at the University of British Columbia. Lesley is interested in finding new and exciting ways to use the vast knowledge of how individuals feel, think, and act to get people engaged with and involved in their communities and organizations. Although technically not an environmental professional, Lesley has a diverse background in research, teaching, and mentoring which she is looking forward to sharing with a new and motivated network. A lifelong dancer, Lesley has recently become involved in a local dance collective called Tap Stew, enjoys getting plants to grow and indulging her artistic side. |

Secretary – Gemma Dunn
Gemma is a research associate and policy outreach coordinator for the Program on Water Governance at UBC. She also works as an independent environmental consultant through her own company Ishka.
Gemma completed her MSc in Environmental Technology, specialising in water management, at Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine in London, UK in 1998. Since then, she has gained a broad range of experience in the water sector, working on various water policy and water utility projects in Europe and North America in both private sector and non-governmental organisations.Her experience includes research, sustainability reporting, bid preparation for water and wastewater PPP’s in Europe, lobbying for freshwater policy changes at the UN CSD in New York, and the application of water demand and supply strategies including metering, leak detection and Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR).
Gemma has been a member of CEP since 2005. |

Board Member / Mentorship Coord – Wendy LeBreton
Wendy started volunteering for CEP in September 2006 and is enjoying it immensely. After five years as project manager for an integrated planning and design consultancy, Wendy moved to the public sector and is now a Community Planner at the District of West Vancouver. Here, she is evaluating land use policy alternatives, within the Zoning Bylaw, that may support more sustainable single family residential development. She also continues to liaise with sustainability professionals around the region, staying up to date on best (and most interesting) practices! Outside of work, she plays ultimate frisbee, and snowboards like nobody’s business. |

Board Member – Manon Gartside
Manon teaches climate change workshops for the BC Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA) and she is also the Scientifique en Résidence at l’École Anne Hébert where she teaches a wide variety of sciences and subjects through environmental projects.Manon completed a B.Sc in Geology and an M.Sc in Isotope Geochemistry from l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM) specializing in Arctic heavy metal pollution. Before moving to Vancouver she worked as an environmental analyst for an environmental lab in California. Manon has been a CEP member since 2006 and is a past CEP coordinator. Manon enjoys backpacking, hiking, collecting rocks and fossils, films, music, reading, dancing and political discussions |

Board Member / Media Relations – Rebecca Irani
Rebecca Irani is the Public Relations Director at Grey Vancouver, whose clients and experience include BC Used Oil Management Association (BCUOMA), Bike to Work Week, TransLink (a campaign to maintain the liveability of Metro Vancouver), the Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC (IAF) and Canada Line. She helps clients to communicate their green strategies clearly and transparently. Prior to her work in Vancouver , she led government education campaigns at the UK ’s number one PR consumer agency, where her clients included those focusing on green energy and local and sustainable food production. She was also awarded by the Chief Executive for implementing internal green office procedures. Passionate about the environment, Rebecca cycles everywhere and delights in the beautiful outdoors, one of her main reasons for moving to Vancouver. |

Volunteer Coordinator– Leigh Greenius
Leigh has recently returned from Sweden where she completed a Master’s in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability. During the course of this program she traveled in Northern Europe to research renewable energy projects for her thesis. She has been a member of CEP since 2008 when she participated in the mentorship program. Leigh is interested in all aspects of sustainability and has gained a range of experience working in the field, from salmon habitat restoration for the City of Surrey to air issues research at Environment Canada. Before leaving for Sweden, she was working at BC Housing, a government agency which provides housing solutions and support for vulnerable British Columbians. In her spare time, Leigh enjoys playing soccer, hiking, gardening and cooking. |

Board Member– Lesley Dampier
Lesley is new to the CEP board. She is a recent graduate from the University of Northern British Columbia’s Natural Resources and Environmental Studies program where she obtained an MSc in May 2010. Her research focussed on soil development and environmental history in the central Yukon. Her background includes four years at an environmental consulting firm as an Environmental Technician and Project Manager, specializing in land reclamation and residuals recycling. When not hard at work, Lesley enjoys coming up with zany plans like hosting a Dance Your Thesis competition for graduate students to connect with their inner interpretive dancer. |
